🌶️ How to Roast Jalapeños

Being in Santa Fe this time of year means any time you step outside you can smell green and red chiles being roasted across the state. It's an incredible smell - smoky, woodsy, sweet, and spicy.

But did you know that you can easily roast jalapeños (or any chili peppers) at home? It's true!

In this post, learn how to roast jalapeños, which mellows them out and gives them a softer texture and smoky flavor. I teach you how to roast them using 4 easy methods: in the oven, on a gas stovetop, on a grill, or in an air fryer.

If you find raw jalapeños too spicy, roasting them is an easy way to mellow the heat while also lending them a smoky and nuanced flavor. In addition, roasting jalapeños tenderizes them and caramelizes the natural sugars.

You can utilize these methods for many different types of chili peppers, and add them to your favorite pasta, salads, tacos, or sandwiches for extra flavor!
